I have been working as a CT tech for about 10 months (rad tech for 4 years). I just took and (passed with a 93) the CT registry last week. I primarily used this text and its companion review book, studying assiduously for about two months. I felt the content was very well tailored for the exam, and credit my passing score to the content of this text, as well as the companion book, with its access to hundreds on online test questions available with its purchase. I also completed another text, the Mosby book, but honestly found it less organized, short on explanatory details, and over-emphasizing areas not covered in the registry. I will say the access to online mock tests and questions alone probably makes the Mosby book a worthwhile investment. Bottom line: find a system and study it until you can answer all questions in your sleep. Hope this helps.

I bought this book about a week before starting a new job in which I'd be responsible for both plain radiography and CT. I couldn't be any happier with the material covered. It's written from a technologists point of view, and goes indepth about the basics and theory of computed tomography. I've seen a couple of complaints about it lacking step by step instructions for exams, but this will vary a little depending on your hospitals protocol and what type of equipment you're using. Honestly, once you have an understanding of the fundamentals, which this book covers well, it makes learning the exams a lot easier because you actually understand what you're doing and why you're doing it in a particular order. The section on cross-section anatomy is fantastic. I've used it many nights when I was slow to compare it to exams done previously in the day. Very informative, I highly recommend this text for anyone wanting to learn CT.

Great book. It breaks down all the categories you need to know very well. I had to buy this for my CT school, and it was the only book we had to buy since it's all inclusive! When you only need one book for a year... that's always a plus. Do the questions in the back after each chapter! I will say, though, that you'll most likely want a dedicated review book for your boards to study from along with this. I recommend Mosby's Exam Review.

This was what I wanted, and there is a code on the inside of the book that has not been used. However, the book does not look new. The outside cover looks as though someone else has used the book. I purchased this book hoping it would be "new" having plastic on the cover or something like that.

This is my 2nd attempt at the CT registry (failed by 2 points), this book has been a HUGE help. Rather than studying to pass by memorizing, this book teaches method and process!!!

I have been using this textbook to help study. It's format is perfect because it matching up with the Content Outline for ARRT exam.It is easy to follow, and hoping to follow up this review by the end of the year with my test results! Wish me luck.

There are several review books on the market and this one is a must have. I suggest this book to my didactic CT students and require it of my CT clinical students. If you think you might sit for the ARRT CT registry, this is a no brainer. Complete with a rich test bank. Big thumbs up from me.
